Choose your metrics¶
| Category | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Independent | Evaluate a recording without reference audio. |
| Dependent | Compare a prediction with its reference recording. |
| Non-match | Use non-matching references or other modalities such as text. |
| Distributional | Compare the statistical properties of audio collections. |
The metric catalog includes configuration keys, output keys, dependency information, original implementations, and research references. Not every metric backend is included in the base installation.
